2.
How long have we been providing this service?
Paragon
Technologies began doing business in the Detroit area in June of
1988, expanding into the Canadian market in December of 1997 with
the purchase of Canadian Servo & Electronics, followed by a
joint association with REM-B, headquartered in Belgium, in October
of 1999. Paragon has opened an additional facility in Charlotte,
North Carolina in 2002.
3.
Is your service unique?
No.
The variety of repair competition in the marketplace is what keeps
Paragon "on its toes" -- but the process that Paragon
has developed over time to control the quality and speed of each
repair is unique in the industry.
4.
Are there any regional limitations to the services we provide?
No.
Paragon incorporates every major overnight and freight carrier into
its repair and exchange process, providing complete North American
coverage - as well as multiple repair associations in Europe, including
Belgium, Germany, and Holland.
5.
Where is the work performed?
The
bulk of the electronic repairs are carried out in two full service
facilities located in Warren, Michigan and Oakville (Toronto), Ontario,
Canada. There is daily company controlled shipments between these
two locations to optimize local expertise on any product type or
description. The third repair facility in Charlotte, North Carolina
will provide additional capabilities.
6.
Is the work performed by a special or qualified staff that requires
them to have a special certification or a degree?
Not
by law. But Paragon has voluntarily elected to require all electronic
technicians to be qualified by the I.S.C.E.T. (The International
Society of Certified Electronic Technicians) and all hydraulic technicians
to be certified by the F.P.S. (The International Fluid Power Society)
to a skill level matching their experience and product assignments.
This is a unique feature of Paragon.
7.
What is the customer benefit of using our service?
Whether
you are a distributor or end-user/customer, Paragon supplies a program
that was written specifically for them. From special ESF (Expedited
Service) that can put a repair back in service in hours instead
of weeks, to various types of training, to regularly scheduled visits,
Paragon employees are trained to help provide the best repair service
possible. Paragon has developed proprietary software to provide
every customer Internet based job tracking, (www.paragontech.com).
This
unique system was created expressly for the purpose of supplying
"live" reporting of the entire repair process - from the
time a product arrives at one of our repair facilities - until 14
days after it has been delivered back for another service life.
Using any Internet browser, a simple customer code and password
opens up a pathway into the internal Paragon Tracking system - allowing
up to the second information of the "Who, What, Where, When,
and How" of every repair that goes through the Paragon Process.
In
addition, WWW.PARAGONTECH.COM offers a series of high-resolution
web cams in each of its repair centers, offering customers a 24
hour look at the Paragon Process via www.paragontech.com. Overall,
Paragon supplies a flexible, turn-key repair service that covers
virtually 100% of the industrial controls that are likely to break,
burn, or just wear out - regardless of the type - regardless of
the brand. Paragon can also provide a repaired product faster than
most original equipment manufacturers - because repair is our primary
business.
8.
What's the competitive advantage of using Paragon vs. the competitor?
Our
expertise. Paragon offers the advantage of having repaired hundreds
of thousands of industrial controls. Also, because of our multiple
factory authorized associations, (such as BOSCH, SQUARE D, and YASKAWA
to name just three) we have the factory parts, factory schematics
and factory contacts to make sure that repairs are done right the
first time. And if something isn't right - Paragon has the best
warranty program we could think of - 1 year in service - or 2 years
on-shelf.
9.
How do we describe the quality of work that we perform/provide?
Paragon
has been told independently by many customers that we have the lowest
warranty rate in the industry. In addition, we monitor our internal
repair quality on a daily basis - by technician - to be sure we
have the best people and the best processes in place.
The
entire Paragon Process is registered under strict ISO9002 guidelines
in each of our facilities - and we have recently received perfect
audits at both of our North American repair centers - a source of
pride for our employees.
10.
How does our quality compare to the competition?
Because
of the sophistication of most industrial controls, quality repair
is a combination of experienced people, modern testing and top quality
replacement parts. Paragon's size advantage over most local competitors
provides an advantage in all three of these areas - in its ability
to attract and keep high quality people, provide them with the best
equipment, and keep ample replacement parts in stock that are at
or better than the original.
That's
the best method Paragon knows of, to keep its quality ahead of the
competition.
11.
How do we handle emergency "fast turn-around" type repairs?
Paragon
provides a very popular service for our customers called ESF (Expedited
Service). For a 25% fee beyond the standard quoted amount (waived
under certain volume situations), Paragon does virtually everything
possible to move that repair through the system, as quickly as humanly
possible - no holes bared. But in many cases our "regular"
service is faster than most of our competitors.
12.
What's the value of working with Paragon for this service?
Availability.
Repairing an electronic, hydraulic, or servo control is necessary
in some special circumstances because only one of that specific
configuration exists. Time. Even for items that can be replaced,
repair is a viable alternative when time dictates an immediate response
to a "down" manufacturing condition.
Manufacturers
can not always afford to sit and wait for a new replacement - when
a repair can be processed much quicker. Cost. Experience has proven
to Paragon that repairs of industrial products range in cost from
50-75% of a new replacement - yet the same result is delivered.
