Hydraulic
technicians are certified. Supervisors are certified at the Specialist's
level while bench technicians are certified to the Mechanics level.
Paragon technicians regularly receive instruction and certification
from the International Organization for Fluid Power and Motion Control
Professionals/Fluid Power Society. The FPS is the only international
professional organization for persons working in or interested in
fluid power technology.
Listed
below are the four classifications and general definitions of each
level FPS recognizes and tests:
- Engineer:
Phase I and Phase II certification based on written competency
in mastery of all levels.
- Specialist:
Analyzes and designs systems, selects components, instructs
others in operations and maintenance.
- Technician:
Troubleshoots systems, tests and modifies systems, prepares
reports.
- Mechanic:
Fabricates, assembles, tests, maintains and repairs systems and
components.
Paragon
also encourages and rewards technicians with financial programs
for their continuing education when it is directly related to the
field of industrial hydraulics. Paragon shares its collective expertise
with new members of its staff, in an ongoing program of education,
training, promotion from within, and career rewards for new skills
acquired.
