The
Certified Electronics Technician Program is designed to measure
the degree of knowledge and proficiency of practicing technicians.
There are two primary levels of certification, the Associate level
and the Journeyman level, with many specialties offered in the Journeyman
Certification program.
Associate-Level Certified Electronics Technician Exam
A
technician in electronics with less than 4 years experience may
take the associate level exam. This exam is the basic electronics
portion of the full Journeyman’s CET exam and must be passed with
a score of 75% or higher. This certification is good for four years.
Journeyman-Level
Certified Electronics Technician Exam
A
fully certified technician must pass an entire CET exam, which consists
of the basic electronics portion, plus at least one Journeyman option
in special fields of electronics.
Industrial
Specialist Exam
Covers such items as transducers, switches, differential amplifiers,
basic logic circuits, and elements of numeric control.
Paragon
also encourages and rewards technicians with financial programs
for their continuing education when it is directly related to the
field of industrial electronics. Paragon shares its collective expertise
with new members of its staff in an ongoing program of education,
training, promotion from within, and career rewards for new skills
acquired.
